MATCH WEEK 1 - Luke Andrews our first table-topper
Well done to Luke Andrews and U Kante Beat Me who are our first Overall League leaders of the season. Luke got off to a perfect start on Friday night, with his three Arsenal players collecting a total of 31 points. U Kante immediately saw the benefit of the Vice Captain... with Josh King missing and dropping to the bench, James McCarthy took over as Captain and doubled up to 20 points.

Z's Eleven also had their Vice Captain take over - Federico Fernandez earned Rosalie Pearson 22 points and helped the Z's to 2nd overall and in Donkeys League Division Two.
JOKERS SEND ARSESHOT TOP
Richard Stead decided to go all out and used both a Captain and Subs Joker for Match Week 1. Your Captain Joker automatically selects your top scoring Nightmare as Captain, and with Tyrone Mings picking up 16 points he doubled up to 32. However, use of a Subs Joker for the first week was a show of confidence as none of us can be entirely sure who's going to get picked.

Rather than boosting Richard's score it backfired, with Arseshot's only sub that didn't come in anyway being Hugo Lloris who scored -3. So the Captain Joker gained Richard 16 points while the Subs Joker lost him 3. Arseshot top Division One.
MISSED OPPORTUNITIES
We had a few Managers who did not quite get selection spot-on for the opening weekend. Oliver Willingham missed the biggest opportunity, leaving both Ezri Konsa (11 points) and Michael Keane (10) warming the bench. It's a decent start for Oliver's Gareth Bagel in 9th overall, but with perfect selection the Bagels would be 2nd.

Elsewhere the likes of Wilfried Zaha (10), Jaaro Riedewald (10), Granit Xhaka (9), and Enock Mwepu (8) were also left warming their bottoms.
CAPTAINS GOOD AND BAD
So the overall top two benefitted from having their Vice Captains step in, but who else won and lost through their Captain choices? Eloise Willingham missed out... The Planets are 3rd overall but Captain Ivan Toney only scored 2 points (doubled to 4). Had she chosen Illan Meslier (15), Eloise would be top. Rodrigo (12), Ben White (11) and Cheikhou Kouyate (9) would also have been great choices, and in fact eight of The Planets' team fared better than Toney.

Mike Fischer selected well with Tyrone Mings (16 = 32) while a host of Managers had 9-point Captains. At the other end of the scale Aaron's Nightmares and Kieran's Nightmares both had Captains with -2.

Worst of all, Will Hughes Still Love Me Tomorrow? got off to the worst possible start on Friday night with Pontus Jansson's -3 doubled up to -6, and with fellow Brentford boy Sergi Canos scoring -3, the Tomorrows started with -9. Chris Bounds' boys have not yet been able to recover... they have climbed out of the minus points but currently sit 32nd out of 32 with 17 points.
SUB DECISIONS
Clem Fandango's squad is so strong that they finished third highest for the week and still managed to leave 28 points of talent left on the bench. A perfect selection from Matt could have seen Fandango 16 points better off. Alex could have done 2 points better - if both had got their selections spot on, Al's Army and Clem Fandango would be dead level at the top.

Third overall, Nightmare Novices might be thinking about getting the wallet out again - with several players dropped, Novices ended up with just 8 men in action.

Strugglers Grecians -2000 gained most from their subs this week. While Bob Thomas' starting 11 amassed 10 points between them they picked up 22 from subs Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (14) and Harry Kane (8) - newly signed on a random transfer as a 'no longer in Prem' replacement.

Not such good news for Blackheart Brewery FC... Ferran Torres (-7) and Patrick Bamford (-2) painful subsitutions, though at least David de Gea (-5) remained on the bench.
